ASIAN-INSPIRED GARDENS

Designed by Hoichi Kurisu, Kurisu International, Inc., the two Asian-inspired gardens are designed to provide peace and tranquility among bridges and ponds, sculptures, waterfalls, stones and exotic flora.

Hoichi Kurisu, Kurisu International is among the top garden landscape and design build firms in the United States. The firm specializes in Japanese and healing gardens, committing themselves to utilizing nature as a way to provide inspiration, restoration and healing to mankind. Their mission is this: Gardens of vision… for lives of insight.

Hoichi Kurisu, president and principal landscape designer of Kurisu International, wanted visitors “to experience an uplifted space.” It is Kurisu’s desire to provide elemental balance as well as the renewal of the human spirit through these gardens.

Through Kurisu’s inspiration, museum visitors will see beautiful plants ranging from giant bamboo to Wild Azaleas. The gardens will incorporate Trumpet Vines, Japanese and Coral Honeysuckle to decorate the gardens. Taiwan Cherry and Southern Magnolias will also accentuate these peaceful oases.

Other botanicals will include the colorful Bat-Leaved Passion Flower, the delicate Confederate Jasmine and Armand’s Clematis. Trees around the gardens will consist of Japanese Maples.
