What Eve Said to the Serpent: A Brief History of Women Landscape Photographers
Landscape photography, since the medium’s birth in 1839, was almost exclusively the preserve of men. In the 1930s, a few women ventured out, but from the 1980s onward, more women landscape photographers have carried large cameras and tripods into the wilderness. Explore the exhibition VAST: Sea, Salt, Sand, Sky, Photographs by Joni Sternbach with Carol McCusker, Curator of Photography and learn how what women landscape photographers found there has added to our understanding of the earth, and ourselves.
